2015 Hathaway / Ritter Distinguished Achievement Award
The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented the 2015 Hathaway / Ritter Distinguished Achievement Award
to Viki Taylor.
This award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to the cause of mosquito control in Louisiana.

2015 Stephen Mayor Operational Award
The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented the 2015 Stephen Mayor Operational Award
to Danny Bartie.
Colby Colona presents the award to Danny Bartie.
2014 Hathaway / Ritter Distinguished Achievement Award
The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented the 2014 Hathaway / Ritter Distinguished Achievement Award
to Guy Faget.
This award is given in recognition of outstanding contributions to the cause of mosquito control in Louisiana. Guy retired from
full time work with EBRPMARC after 30 years in 2010. However, he came back to work part-time as an entomologist and pilot.
He also flies for Tangipahoa Parish and works as contract pilot with VDCI.
Guy has been a member of the AMCA for over twenty years and was elected to the LMCA Board of Directors in 1999. He served
four terms on the BOD and always dedicated his time and expertise for training others at the LMCA Spring Workshop
and Annual Meetings. He also served and guided the association as President in 2001.

2014 Keynote Speaker
Dr. Dina M. Fonseca, was the keynote speaker at the 57th Annual LMCA Meeting. Her presentation was about
Area-wide managemeent of the Asian Tiger mosquito: lessons learned.
Dr. Fonseca is a Professor of Ecological Epidemiology at the Center for Vector Biology at Rutgers
University. She teaches courses in Vector-borne Disease and Population Genetics. She researches
the ecology and evolution of invasive species with emphasis on ways to control mosquitoes.

2014 Stephen Mayor Operational Award
The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented the 2014 Stephen Mayor Operational Award
to George Bragg.
This award is for the best operational paper presented at the LMCA Annual Meeting. The award is made to
residents of the State of Louisiana and employed by a mosquito control operation in Louisiana. The
award consists of a cash award of $500 and a plaque engraved with the name and topic of achievement.

George developed a larvicide cartridge made of PVC material to use in residential culverts and catch
basins. It dispenses all the common larvicide briquets used in our industry. Built in floats
allow the cartridge to adjust to fluctuations in water levels.

to Michael Morganti.

LMCA establishes endowed scholarship in biology at ULL
The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented an endowment to
the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

LMCA establishes endowed scholarship in biology at SLU
The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has established a scholarship in
biological sciences at Southeastern Louisiana University. The endowed scholarship will exist in
perpetuity and provides financial assistance to a Southeastern student majoring in the Masters of
