Mosquito Academy 2014

The Mosquito Academy is Full - no more registrations are being accepted.

The New Orleans Mosquito, Rodent and Termite Control Board, in conjunction with the LMCA, will be hosting the 2014 Mosquito Academy in New Orleans on April 22-24, 2014. This three day Academy will offer comprehensive and in-depth information in all areas of mosquito biology and control. The Academy will place emphasis on field training and mosquito identification. In order to provide hands-on training, the class size is limited to 30 registrants. The Academy will be beneficial for experienced professionals as well as newcomers to the industry. This Academy will include presentations by mosquito control professionals and university experts.

We have also arranged for discounted hotel rates at two local hotels:
  • Maison Dupuy is offering a $99 per night plus taxes and $16/day for parking. Please mention the Mosquito Academy for the group rate.
  • We also have a 15% discount at the Rose Manor Bed and Breakfast. Please visit their website because the rooms vary in prices.

  LMCA awards the Stephen Mayor Operational Award

The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented the 2013 Stephen Mayor Operational Achievement Award to Michael Morganti.

  LMCA establishes endowed scholarship in biology at ULL

The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has presented an endowment to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

  LMCA establishes endowed scholarship in biology at SLU

The Louisiana Mosquito Control Association has established a scholarship in biological sciences at Southeastern Louisiana University. The endowed scholarship will exist in perpetuity and provides financial assistance to a Southeastern student majoring in the Masters of Biology program.
